Carla has experience in advising on all aspects of IP, including contentious and non-contentious work, advising local, multi-national and international blue chip clients who operate across all major sectors.
Her experience includes assisting in national and international protection, management and exploitation of IP as well as enforcement strategies. She is also involved in all services associated with trade marks, patents and designs including filing, prosecution, litigation, transactional work and strategic advice. Carla also has experience in advising on contentious copyright and counterfeiting matters, particularity throughout the African continent.
She has extensive experience in providing advice in complex corporate transactions relating to the exploitation and monetization of IP rights and technology, IP issues flowing from international acquisitions and disposals, IP and technology transfers, IP and technology due diligence investigations as well as IP and technology related exchange control issues.
She also advises clients in relation to local and cross border content and technology licensing arrangements, technology transfers and media and telecommunications due diligence investigations.
Carla is a fellow of the South African Institute of Intellectual Property.
Carla has a B.Com degree from the University of South Africa and an LLB degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
